Circa 1920s or 1930s. Wood, burlap (maybe canvas), brass and leather. Block painted in charcoal, light grey and the previously painted sienna. Great shape for a piece of this era with original tray intact (lined with shelf paper on the bottom as there was a small tear in the fabric). 
 
Wheels and frame are attached to the bentwood frame of the trunk by small nails and screws and double-sided tape and can be removed fairly easily if you prefer the trunk without the wheels.
